Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce Excellence Awards
Applications for the above awards are invited from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th yearStudents who sat for the Final Examination held in December 2023, and the criteria are as follows:
Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant should be an internal undergraduate who has registered to follow any degree programme offered by the faculty.
- The applicant should complete all academic requirements of the considered year, including all compulsory and elective courses.
- The applicant should have a GPA of 3.30 or above in the respective academic year.
- An applicant who has obtained greater than or equal to 70% of the marks as per section 3 given in the application will be considered in granting awards.
- In the event a student has completed the considered academic year “with privileges” in a subsequent year, he/she is eligible to submit an application. This will be applicable only if the student has fulfilled the aforementioned eligibility requirements.
- The applications which are not duly completed will not be considered for the final evaluation.
Ineligible students
- Any student who obtains an improved grade/grades subsequently, by repeating a module/ modules shall not be eligible.
- Any student on whom disciplinary action has been taken by the University Council for any misconduct shall not be eligible.
Application Procedure
- Any student who believes that he/she is eligible may submit an application.

- Students should submit certified copies of all documentary evidence along with the application.
- Students should submit their application through the Head of the Department (HOD) who shall certify the contents of the applications.
- Students may be required to face an interview on the request of the selection panel.
Details mentioned in the application should be supported by relevant documents and they too should be submitted along with the application. Students eligible for the above awards should submit the application and documents addressed to the Dean, through the Head of the Department/Common Programme Coordinator. The application and documents should be e-mailed to awards.fmsc@sjp.ac.lk . A hardcopy of the application must either be sent via post or hand over to the below mentioned address mentioning “awards FMSC – January 2024” at the top left corner of the envelop, on or before 09th of September 2024.
