Identifying Challenges Faced by Students and Helping Students with Financial Difficulties

Dear Students

The Faculty is well aware that some of our students encounter different challenges that may hinder their studies due to the prevailing situation in the country. Hence, the faculty aims to collect more details from students on the challenges they encounter and arrange several type of support programs. This initiative is implemented through the Student Support Center (SSC) of the Faculty.

Please provide the details of the issues you encounter on or before Friday, 12th August 2022 using the Google form below:

https://forms.gle/MJZejeroaGGAHFQ29

While some of the issues may need long-term solutions, the faculty has made an initiative to assist students who need immediate financial assistance during their exam period. The Google form consists of two sections.

Section 1:

This section requires your personal details brief description of issues other than financial issues. Such information would help SSC to organise support programs (e.g. awareness sessions and arranging additional learning support etc.) in the future.

Section 2:

If you wish to apply for the financial support program, please fill Section 2 of the Google form. Please provide appropriate evidence/s of financial difficulties you are experiencing, if possible (e.g., Letter from Grama Sevaka, Salary details of parents etc). From requests made by students, most deserving recipients will be selected by a panel of lecturers and will receive about Rs. 5000.00 as one-time assistance. The financial support for this is provided by the academic staff of the Faculty and several external donors.

Please feel free to contact Coordinator (SSC) – on 0714011489/ smpfmsc@sjp.ac.lk should you require further details.
