This
course provides specialized knowledge & skills in designing and development
of databases. The course consists of two modules. The first module discusses
the importance of the databases to different user groups, the database
development process, different modelling techniques, database designs and
developments and accessibility, data/database administration and data
warehousing. The second module provides the necessary practical skills to
strengthen the knowledge gained in the first module. During this module, the
students are exposed to relational and non-relational Database Management Systems
(DBMS) currently available in the business environment.
